Shanghai is the original place of latter-day jewelry stores. “Feng Xiang Yu Ji Jewelry Store”, the predecessor of Shanghai Lao Fengxiang, is established in 1848 (28th year of Qing Emperor Dao Guang).

1908 (34th year of Qing Emperor Guang Xu), the jewelry store moved to Nanjing Road (No.432 east Nanjing road), where is Lao Fengxiang head store located now.
